It's simpler to do it as per the diagram above and, as mentioned in the quoted posts, probably it will never blow the 10A fuse because of the headroom that's built-in in the manufacturer's recommendation (specially at moderate levels).įor peace of mind you could take a reading of the current it drives during normal operation before deciding to keep the 10A fuse or bump it up to 15A. There's no need to look for a separate 15A circuit just for the amp. ![]() Its harnesses and connectors are designed to mate with the headunit's, and what's more important: the recommendation to use a 15A circuit is intended for both, headunit AND amp as a combo. It is an add-on amp specifically designed to complement the same manufacturer's headunits, and it is inserted "in-line" with no independent connections. For example, it stops a person from putting a 20-amp fuse in a 15-amp circuit, a potentially serious mistake. If the harness cannot handle the additional current the 10amp fuse is providing the foglights it may cause the wiring to heat up & melt. Just out of curiosity, I looked for more information regarding this specific device. It was meant for a headunit requiring a 10A circuit and an additional amp requiring a 15A circuit. I bet it will.maybe if you cranked it up it might blow the fuse.but at normal volumes i cant see it pulling 15 amps.I gave an "educated" opinion based on the information at hand.
